Chorus: people could hate the sun and love the moon
They can stay up past dawn and wait for noon.
But there are some who like both,
Some people hate both which is strange.
The world turns as the sun shines.
People yearn as the moon draws his line.
The sun hears everything, every little whisper.
The moon forces pain and torment as it glisters.
(chorus)
Everyone needs a sparkle shown.
Nobody needs their happiness blown.
The moon’s temptation is lower than silent.
But everyone obeys him with their equal contentment,
Ignoring the consequences clearly seen.
Pushing aside their shoulder to lean.
(chorus)
People embrace as the sun shines bright,
While they try to erase the dark cold nights.
No matter how hard they try, it won’t go away.
It’s like a tattoo that crawls its way.
Everyone has a darkness they want to destroy,
But we all know the moon comes to watch and enjoy.

ReplyDeleteI like the line about the sun hearing everything, even the little whispers. I can both see and hear it. Nice imagery.
